Kay Cleaves After graduating from Brown in 1998, I started quite accidentally in online design in while working as a stage manager in Chicago, Illinois. In need of a place to store my work forms online for easy access, I created what eventually turned into SMNetwork. Many years later, my online experiences have taken me out of the realm of the performing arts and into professional web design. Over the past six years, I have taught myself all of the techniques I use to develop client sites. It's my belief that the design process should be as easy as possible on the client, and that the online browsing experience should provide a warm and welcoming environment for visitors. In my designs I try to keep away from the cold, sterile feeling that you get from some web projects -- not to say that you won't see metallic textures and bright shiny graphics in CuteFuzzy projects! Sites are, of course, designed to client specifications, with a focus on making the experience as friendly for the common user as possible. For design tools I can use anything from Notepad to Frontpage and Dreamweaver. I have experience with implementing open source, commercial and custom-designed applications. I look forward to hearing from you about how we can create a web experience that perfectly suits your project at hand. |
